Western hats are built to ride hard and look better with time. A little care keeps the brim true, the crown proud, and the finish looking like it belongs on the trail — not the back of a truck seat.
Felt hats
Most of our felt styles are fur or wool felt. They’re sturdy, but they remember heat, moisture, and how you store them.
- Brush gently with a soft hat brush, following the nap.
- Spot-clean with a barely damp cloth. Avoid soaking the felt.
- If it gets wet, let it air-dry on a clean surface or hat stand — never on a heater.
- Store on a hat rack or in a box so the brim stays flat and the crown keeps its shape.
Straw hats
Straw breathes in the Arizona sun. Keep it out of long soaks and sharp bends.
- Wipe dust with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid crushing the crown or folding the brim.
- Let damp straw dry naturally before storing.
Leather, bands & hardware
- Wipe leather bands and sweatbands clean; condition leather sparingly if it dries out.
- Metal conchos and buckles prefer a soft dry cloth — skip harsh polish.
